Improve your English speaking and writing skills. We offer tuition-free English as a second language (ESL) classes for adults age 18 and older.

Removing the Language Barrier to Education 

At North Orange Continuing Education, learning English is a challenge that our students are dedicated to overcoming. That’s why we are committed to easing the transition into post-secondary education and the workplace for our English as a Second Language (ESL) and Citizenship Program students with unique and powerful opportunities.

FREE English as a Second Language (ESL) and U.S. Citizenship Preparation Classes 

Through English-language and citizenship preparation instruction, we increase access to education, jobs, and community engagement.

  • Free and Easily Accessible:

    Classes are offered at NOCE’s Anaheim, Cypress, and Wilshire (Fullerton) Centers. With more than 30 off-site locations, we bring English instruction to your neighborhood.  During the COVID-19 pandemic, classes are also being offered online! Contact us if you need to borrow a laptop.

  • Addressing Unique Needs:

    We offer six levels of English, as well as specialty classes including grammar review, writing and reading, conversation and public speaking practice, and vocational courses to bolster students’ skills.

  • Bridging Opportunities:

    Our Academic Success Program prepares students with “next step” opportunities, including college, high school/GED, and career technical education programs. We also provide critical services like college tours, financial aid application assistance, and career workshops to help our students succeed.

  • Citizenship Preparation Program:

    We help prospective candidates prepare for the U.S. citizenship process, assisting with immigration forms, test prep, and more. 

  • Technology Skills:

    We help students build better computer skills, opening doors to stronger resumes, more efficient job searches, improved typing and word processing skills, and confident use of common office applications.

  • Unparalleled Support:

    Students receive focused support to aid in the transition to careers and further educational opportunities. Our counselors help students create comprehensive educational plans to meet their educational and career goals.
